Getting started
Quick start
From a fresh workspace to your first synced sale, in seven steps.
Every iotoms rollout follows the same spine. There is no self-serve tier — every operation gets a guided setup with your own data — but this is the path we walk together.
1. Business setup
Create your stores, venues and registers under Business Setup. A store is a physical location; venues and registers are the points of sale inside it. A van is a vehicle with a mobile register.
2. Load the catalog
Import your items under Catalogs → Items. For each item, set its units of measure: the unit you buy in, the unit you stock in, and every unit you sell in. An item can be bought by the crate, stocked by the kilogram and sold by the gram on the same stock pool.
3. Mark catch-weight items
Any item bought by container but stocked by weight should be flagged catch weight, with its container tare. From then on, goods receipts for that item expect scale readings.
4. Set up routes
Under Operations, create your vehicles, customer stores and route plans with visit order. Assign each route to a rep.
5. Receive stock
Raise a purchase order in your buying units. At the dock, record the goods receipt: each container crosses the scale, tare is netted out, and the measured net weight posts to stock. Expected-vs-measured variance is kept per vendor.
6. Run the first route
The rep opens the day in the field app, which pulls the route, catalog and prices onto the device. Selling works with or without signal; payments can be cash, card, credit or split.
7. Close the day
The guided day close counts cash against every transaction on the route before the rep parks. The console's ledger already matches — to the cent.
Tip: run your first route in airplane mode on purpose. Watching the console catch up the moment signal returns is the fastest way to trust the sync.
